BreakBox Thought Collective believes in the power of community to elevate marginalized voices. We collaborate across sectors to design projects for social change. We are a collective space for holistic healing and personal development.
We envision a world where diverse experiences are embraced and limiting thought patterns that no longer serve our communities are released.
As Founder and Executive Director of BreakBox Thought Collective, Jamillah Finley oversees BBTC's project management as well as the innovative youth internship programs that produce initiatives, campaigns and trainings for social change. With more than twenty years experience as an educator in the public school system, Jamillah, affectionately known as "Lila" has received many different awards including the Fresno Unified School District Teacher of the Year, Artist in Residence for Fresno County Office of Education, and the African American Heritage Award for Excellence in Education from State of California Assemblyman, Henry T. Perea. In 2020, the City of Fresno proclaimed February 13 to be BreakBox Thought Collective Day.
We critically understand the impact of media, music, and education on our society's perceptions. We seek to create initiatives that birth new narratives. Let's reimagine our world together!
